StarAngel: 2023 Hawaii Wildfires Emergency Response

In early August 2023, a series of wildfires broke out in the U.S. state of Hawaii, predominantly on the island of Maui. The wind-driven fires prompted evacuations, caused widespread damage, killing at least 97 people and leaving at least 31 others missing in the town of Lahaina, Hawaii.

The most significant fire of the complex of events began from a brush fire ignited in West Maui near the town of Lahaina on the morning of August 8. During the early morning hours of August 8, significant straight-line winds began to impact the town of Lahaina.

In response to the wildfires in Hawaii, we have set up a donation page to help victims as part of our ongoing Disaster & Emergency relief program called StarAngel Center.  Under the program, we have supported victims of natural disasters in partnerships with our global partners and community stakeholders in various countries over past 10 years.
