KIF SOUTH AMERICA
OVERVIEW
South America ranks fourth in area and fifth in population with estimated at more than 423 million people. South America's Amazon rainforest represents over half of the planet's remaining rainforests, and comprises the largest and most biodiverse tract of tropical rainforest in the world, with an estimated 390 billion individual trees divided into 16,000 species.
At a national level in South America, KIF Global has established our national chapter KIF Brazil in 2019 in São Paulo, the most populous city in Brazil, the Americas, the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere. In 2020, KIF Colombia was formed in Bogotá, Colombia, the hometown of KIF Global Co-Founder.
Each chapter is independently led by highly motivated community leaders and exclusively manages its own territory. Our national chapters work closely with its Global Headquarters and country offices of our global partners such as United Nations agencies and international NGOs.
At a global level, KIF Global has created KIF South America, the South America Regional Committee that plays a key role as a regional platform to strategically unify and expand South American national chapters and initiatives, including Amazon Habitat, the Amazon Rainforest conservation initiative.

KIF SOUTH AMERICA
OUR STORY
In 2015, we first took an adventurous trip to the world's largest Amazon rainforest and explored its rich biodiversity to learn and develop a conservation initiative in Leticia where Colombia, Brazil and Peru come together. In the following years, we begun inspiring hundreds of young Colombian students at an international school where co-founder Nia has attended to give back to her home school. In 2018, co-founder Shin was first invited to São Paulo, Brazil where he had an opportunity to learn about its diverse and historical community. To advance KIF's mission and initiatives in the region, KIF Brazil and KIF Colombia were formed by its community leaders in São Paulo and Bogotá.
KIFLA, the Latin American branch of the Koyamada International Foundation (KIF), serves as the central coordinating body for national chapters in the region, focusing on enhancing governance, communication, partnerships, and programs. Its goal is to strengthen regional collaborations and initiatives while expanding the new presence of National Chapters in the region.;
