KIF AFRICA
OVERVIEW
Africa is the world's second-largest and second-most populous continent. With 1.3 billion people, Africa's average population is the youngest amongst all the continents. Africa is home to much biodiversity; it is the continent with the largest number of megafauna species. Africa also is heavily affected by a wide range of environmental issues, including desertification, deforestation, water scarcity, and other issues.
At a national level in Africa, KIF Global has established our first national chapter KIF Kenya in Nairobi, Kenya in 2019, followed by other chapters in West Africa such as KIF Togo in Lomé, Togo in 2019 and KIF Ghana in Accra, Ghana in 2020. Each chapter is independently led by highly motivated community leaders and exclusively manages its own territory.
At a global level, KIF Global has created an African regional committee KIF Africa, which plays a key role as a regional platform to strategically unify and advance African national chapters and initiatives, including Safari Habitat.

OUR STORY
In 2019, we were coincidentally contacted by people of Kenya in East Africa and Togo in West Africa exactly on the same date to open our first national chapters there in Africa. In the following year, Shin was coincidentally invited to speak at an United Nations Summit in Kenya and visited Africa for the first time. While visiting, KIF Kenya was launched and he inspired over 300 Kenyan college students and was introduced to the Head of UNFPA, which led to a global partnership with the UN Agency in just two months later.
KIF Africa is an African regional committee of KIF Global. The purpose of KIF Africa is to provide a regional platform for new and existing national chapters throughout Africa and KIF Global to work together efficiently in improving chapter governance, communications and initiatives as well as strengthening regional partnerships in an inclusive and unified approach. KIF Africa manages an African initiative called Safari Habitat.
