Pride of LGBT: Ways to Make a Difference in Society

The U.S. Embassy Tokyo and the Koyamada International Foundation Japan jointly hosted event "Pride of LGBT: Ways to Make a Difference in Society" lecture event by Mark Bromley at Daly Hall, which is located at the U.S. Embassy Housing Compound. Prominent speaker Mark Bromley addressed over 50 students and young professionals in Tokyo, Japan.

Mr. Bromley holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a BSFS from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He has published on human rights and international law issues, and has served as an adjunct professor for the human rights clinic at the University of Virginia School of Law and at Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad Law Center. He lives in Washington with his husband, David Salie and their daughter Tallulah.

After Mrs. Sakurai of the U.S. Embassy Tokyo gave opening remarks to the young Japanese audience, Bromley's gave a 40 minute presentation, which was followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. Closing remarks of the lecture were provided by Political officer of the U.S. Embassy, Mr. Whitney.

Audience members shared the staff that they had a worthwhile time and would like to attend similar events like this in the future.
