Global Education On United Nations @ High School
KIF Okayama hosted the lecture “Global Education On United Nations”, lectured by Mr. Nakamae, the Japanese Minister of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations (U.N.). The event took place in front of 600 high school students, parents and teachers at Okayama Prefecture Okayama Joto Senior High School in Okayama City.
After Mr. Otani welcomed the audience and made a brief introduction himself, he introduced to Mrs. Ito, a Deputy Director of the Board of Education of the Okayama Prefectural Government. Mrs. Ito gave the opening remark of welcoming the speaker and thanking the high school for providing the opportunity to give the students to be educated about the United Nations. Mrs. Ito introduced the brief background of Mr. Nakamae, the Minister representative of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations (UN) from New York.
Mr. Nakame talked about what the United Nations is about and how the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations (UN) is working on many international issues with the headquarter of the United Nations in New York. He expressed his wishes for all young Japanese people to explore outside of Japan and gain international experiences. He lectured approximately 45 minutes. After the lecture, many students had opportunities to ask him many different good questions about the UN and what he does in the Q&A. The participants seemed very satisfied and pleased to learn from him directly something that they normally don't get to learn about in their classrooms.
After his speech, the President of the student concil presented him flowers to express their gratitude for his honorable visit and his wonderful lecture to their school.
