JCI x KIF: Signing Global Partnership For SDGs and Youth

22 February 2019, Kanazawa, Japan—JCI (Junior Chamber International) and the Koyamada International Foundation (KIF/キフ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding working to collaborate on efforts that promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and empower young people with an emphasis on empowering young women.
Announced during the 2019 Kanazawa Conference, where 3,000 young people gathered to accelerate the SDG movement, the partnership will create opportunities to expand both organizations’ impact related to sustainable development globally. JCI and KIF will focus on their mutual desire to empower young people, promote peace and gender equality. During a three-year partnership, these two organizations will share expertise, best practices and global networks to advance the Sustainable Development Goals while collaborating to create opportunities for girls and women.
Throughout this year, KIF will join Act for Peace: The Peace is Possible World Tour, an initiative led by JCI’s Peace is Possible campaign, by hosting and participating in grassroots events and peace actions to help reach the goal of engaging 1 million people with a universal message of peace.
As a grassroots organization of young active citizens, JCI will work with KIF to identify specific partnership opportunities at the international and local level for projects specifically related to creating opportunities for youth, advancing gender equality and developing leadership skills.
