Guardian Girls Karate: VIP Reception Dinner Karate Night

On October 7th, the Koyamada International Foundation (KIF), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and World Karate Federation (WKF) have signed a groundbreaking Trilateral Memorandum during the VIP Reception Dinner "Karate Night" at the Official Residence of the Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles to officially launch the Guardian Girls Karate in Los Angeles. The mission of the Guardian Girls Karate is to empower vulnerable girls and women to defend themselves from all forms of gender-based violence through Karate around the world.

Before the Karate Night started, some distinguished Japanese Karate Grandmasters had an opportunity to meet and greet and exchange dialogue with the newly arrived Consul General of Japan Kenko Sone about the Karate community in Los Angeles area and across the United States. At the beginning, the new Consul General of Japan Kenko Sone welcomed Sensei and their top students to his Official Residence, followed by the greetings of the WKF President Antonio Espinos, KIF Global Chair Shin Koyamada and WKF General Secretary Toshihisa Nagura. They have talked about the importance of working together, regardless their differences in styles, schools and backgrounds, to support the Karate communities in Los Angeles, the United States and around the world in an inclusive way for a future generation.

To kick off the Karate Night, Nia Lyte, Co-Founder and President of the Koyamada International Foundation (KIF) greeted the distinguished guests with a warm welcoming speech, followed by the opening remarks by the Consul General Kenko Sone, WKF President Antonio Espinos, KIF Global Chair Shin Koyamada and UNFPA Chief Strategic Partnerships Mariarosa Cutillo.

After the organizer's inspiring speeches, Nia Lyte made an amazing special presentation about the new trilateral partnerships among KIF Global, WKF and UNFPA on the new partnership project of the Guardian Girls Karate to briefly share audience what this new Guardian Girls Karate is about.

The program moved onto a Signing Ceremony by KIF Global Chairman Shin Koyamada, WKF President Antonio Espinos from Madrid, Spain and UNFPA Chief Strategic Partnership Mariarosa Cutillo from New York to officially launch the Guardian Girls Karate in Los Angeles.
