DISASTER & EMERGENCY

OVERVIEW

Natural disasters disrupt people's lives through displacements, destruction of livelihoods, property, and injuries. When a conflict or natural disaster erupts, education is generally the first service interrupted and the last resumed. More than 75 million children and young people aged 3-18 are currently in urgent need of educational support in 35 crisis-affected countries. Ending extreme poverty is just the beginning, not the end. Current estimates are that nearly 690 million people are hungry, or 8.9 percent of the world population. For disasters and emergencies, we strategically coordinate with our national chapters and global partners to provide disaster relief and emergency assistance to victims in regions affected by a natural disaster, conflicts, and displacement under a global initiative StarAngel. For an extreme poverty, we provide global humanitarian assistance to underrepresented and underprivileged individuals and families with resources they desperately need at a grassroots level through out global initiative 1000 Ways To Give.

DISASTER & EMERGENCY

INITIATIVE

StarAngel is a global initiative that provides disaster relief and emergency assistance in mobilization and deployment of resources for those affected by a natural disaster, conflicts, and displacement in collaboration with our global partner ECW.. The Initiative mainly focuses on two areas: education in emergencies and humanitarian response in natural disasters..

1000 Ways To Give is a global initiative that provides international assistance which connects people with the resources they desperately need. Specifically, underrepresented and underprivileged individuals and families are assisted though this program. Local individuals and businesses donate items, which are then directly delivered to underrepresented and underprivileged individuals and families. In the past years, we have helped hundreds of homeless, underrepresented and underprivileged individuals and families in Downtown Los Angeles and elsewhere.
